as·ta·tine  (ˈastəˌtēn),  n.  [ < Gr. Astatos, ustable; + ine], an unstable chemical element formed from bismuth when it is bombarded by alpha particles; symbol. At; at. wt., 211 (?); at. no., .85 (formerly designated as alabamine).
